Auchterarder and District Local History Association is open to anyone who is interested in local history.. We welcome total beginners and experienced historians.
Our talks cover many and varied topics with particular interest in the distant and not so distant past of Auchterarder and surrounding areas.

Auchterarder and District Local History Association was founded in 1987, with a remit to promote the diverse history of Strathearn's Royal Burghs. ADLHA meets from September to May during the year. Lectures are held in the Aytoun Hall, High Street, Auchterarder. Members pay an annual joining fee of £10.00 at the November AGM meeting, and visitors are asked to pay an entry fee of £3.00. There is the opportunity to chat with members informally over tea and coffee after the meetings.

Apart from hosting regular lectures throughout 7 months of the year, September to April, we also arrange visits to places of historical interest. For example, we have recently visited Abbotsford House, home of Sir Walter Scott in the Scottish borders, also Andrew Carnegies birthplace museum, the Fair Maid's House, now, the Perth HQ of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society.
